Subject: Call for candidatures for the 8th World Congress of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centres and Associations (WFUCA), Hanoi, Vietnam, 18-22 August 2011

Following the notification dated 18 December 2010, we confirm that the next ordinary session of the World Congress of WFUCA will take place in Hanoi Vietnam, from 18(date of arrival) to 22 (date of departure) August 2011.

A pre-draft agenda as well as practical information on the site, venue of the Congress and the modalities (conditions of participation, financial assistance etc.) will be communicated to you in due course and not later than four (4) months before the opening of the Congress. (Constitution, article 5, section 6)

Regarding candidatures for the positions of the President, the five Vice-presidents, the five members of the Executive Board, and the Treasurer of our Federation, we would like to invite all those who have faith in the ideals of UNESCO and feel able to mobilize the public opinion in favour of these ideals and values, to submit their candidature.

The candidatures will have to be deposited at the WFUCA Secretariat using the related form attached. In accordance with article 16 of the Rules of procedure of the World Congress, the candidates must be proposed by the national Federation or the coordinating body of their respective country.

The candidate’s file must include his/her CV with a recent photograph, information on his/her former activities in the service of UNESCO Clubs, on the fields in which he/she can bring an added value to the development of the Movement, duly reflected in the program that he/she proposes to carry out. Moreover, according to the Rules of procedure of the World Congress the candidate’s file must contain a declaration of a person in charge of a national authority, committing himself/herself to support the candidate and his future action in favour of the World Federation.

Despite the fact that the Rules of procedure of the World Congress indicate that the complete file must be addressed to the Secretariat at least two weeks before the World

Congress, in order to better prepare the elections, we invite you to present your candidatures, according to the existing practise that was applied for the previous World Congress, two months before the opening of the Congress.

It is well known that the events to be celebrated this year are of high importance including the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of WFUCA.

We take this opportunity to thank each and every member of our movement for your support and devotion in the successful accomplishment of WFUCA’s mission these last 30 years.

The World Congress of August 2011 will be of primary importance for our Movement and will be directly connected with the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of WFUCA.

We are therefore convinced that we can count on your collaboration, participation and engagement in order to make the events of the coming August a great success.
