A Training Seminar for the selected leaders of UNESCO Clubs and Associations in India was organized in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh by the Confederation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations of India (CUCAI) together with the Shri Ram Group of Colleges (SRGC) from 21-24 June 2012. The seminar was organized at SRGC Complex in muzaffarnagar. Over 250 participants attended the seminar including participants from other states.
The programme was inaugurated by Shri Om Prakash Sharma Member Legislative Council of Uttar Pradesh. Dr. S.C. Kulshrestha, Chairman Shri Ram Group of Colleges, Mr. Anirban Sarma, National Programme Specialists UNESCO New Delhi Office, Mr. A.K. Khanna, Deputy Superintending Archaeologist, ASI, Mr. Dhirendra Bhatnagar, Secretary General CUCAI addressed the inaugural session.
Mr. Anirban Sarma informed the participants about the objectives and activities of UNESCO. He traced the history of UNESCO Club Movement and lauded its supporting role in popularizing the programmes of UNESCO.
Mr. Dhirendra Bhatnagar explained that by organizing such Training Seminars attention of the people are drawn towards the current topics which are of universal importance. He said the dates of the seminar co-inside with the Rio+20 Summit being held in Brazil which is attended by 192 Nations. He informed that such programmes are being organized by CUCAI twice in a year in different parts of the country. Galaxy of academia from Universities and colleges delivered lectures on the selected topics and attended the seminar. Mr. Vikram Chandra Goyal, Retd. IPS, Vice Chancellor Ch.
