Mr. Nelson Mandela (popularly known as “Madiba”) will turn 95 years of age on 18th July 2013. As in the previous years, Nelson Mandela International Day will be celebrated on Thursday, 18th July 2013 at India International Centre 40, Max Mueller Marg Lodhi Estate, New Delhi-110003 by India International Centre, Gandhi Peace Foundation and Working Group on Alternative Strategies together with the High Commission of South Africa in India. United Nations has declared 18 July as “Nelson Mandela International Day” in recognition of the former South African President’s contribution to the culture of peace and freedom.

Registration: 10:00 hrs at Gandhi-King Memorial Plaza, India International Centre, Lodhi Estate
Commemoration Service: 10.30 - 11.00 hrs
Songs/Choir by students, procession from Gandhi-King Memorial Plaza to Deshmukh
Auditorium Mandela Katha Mala and interactive session with students: 11:00 – 12:30 hrs at Deshmukh Auditorium

A short film on Nelson Mandela’s Life will be screened and Paintings Exhibiting life and struggle of Nelson Mandela will be displayed at Foyer, outside Deshmukh Auditorium.

CUCAI has been asked by the organizers to mobilize participation of the school children in this programme and be inspired by the life and values of Nelson Mandela.

You are requested to send a small group of about 10 students of senior classes, fully prepared / briefed on the life, struggle and mission of Nelson Mandela for the interactive session.
