Youth for Youth
The youth programs seek to:
- Promote mobility in the youth-related fields
- Promote youth’s active involvement the social and cultural life,
- Develop the initiative spirit and solidarity in Europe and the world,
- Promote inter-culture and inter-religion dialogue.
Gender problems. Equality of chances – a global priority of the medium-term UNESCO strategy
Goals :
- Using UNESCO’s prestige and influence to spread the benefits of the Organization’s medium-term programs and priorities,
- Eliminating discrimination,
- Developing new programs against family violence, promoting and preserving the family traditions, treating with major care the fundamental problems of women’s life.
Representatives of museums and other institutions participating in 2009 meeting came from:
Cyprus, France, Germany, Greece, the Holy See, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and
Romania
New perspectives for Youth and Museums
During the 2010 session, a round table was dedicated to the question of the cultural heritage of the national minorities and its conservation in museums. The success of this meeting showed the interest for new facets to be developed in the next months in the framework of the Youth and Museums project. A firs event was organized in July 2010 when a group of 27 young representatives of national minorities from Romania visited UNESCO Headquarters and was informed on the Organization programmes.
The European woman identity
In view to express the cultural identity of the European woman, after a brainstorming, the participants created two works: an exhibition and a theatre performance (including costumes and music). At the end of the workshop the performance was presented in the local theatre, as well as the exhibition.
